Typoase
Installation for Public Space
Bolzano, 2007

The installation “Typoase“ is a typographic furniture for city spaces. Big letters form the word “Time“. The integrated banks invite you to take your time. It's being part of the installation, that involves the people in a direct but at the same time very subtle way.

The installation works on two different levels. Standing in front of it, you can barely read the letters. It's not until you climb the stairs of the court building, that you get the message. Like in life, things get clearer seen from a distance. And this way the redesigned place becomes a space to gather and communicate. The letters "Time“ are formed by gabions with wooden banks as seats and topped with turf lawn.
